is the first album of music for dogs. It consists of relaxation music, nature sounds and dogs’ singing.

The BARKarole has several functions:

1. To dispel dogs’ boredom when they are left home alone. It can be played softly in repeat or random mode to relieve dogs from anxiety.
2. To provide a pleasant sonic ambience and conceal many industrial sounds of our technological world.
3. To entertain dogs by offering them new musical experiences and enhance their well-being.
4. To make dog owners aware of dogs’ particular sensitivity to sounds (due to the dogs’ very fine hearing) and thus to avoid exposing them to unpleasant music and noise.
5. To give dogs an opportunity to teach their masters about the importance of harmony in our lives.

The album is of 75 minutes duration and has the following titles:

Prelude, Ubud Aubade, Duettino, Bach’s dog, Daydreaming dog, By the brook, Concerto, Chorale, Bruno’s canzona, Nocturne, Dora’s lullaby, Moonlight of sleeping dogs.

The CD should never be played too loud, dogs have a fine ear and dislike loud sounds. The tracks with dogs’ singing and barking are to stimulate dogs. Some dogs do bark upon hearing the album for the first time and that’s normal – new dogs entered their territory but after several hearing those CD dogs become the friendly companion. The tracks nos. 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 11 and 12 are for pure relaxation (most CD players can easily be programmed that way.) Also just one track can be played to share the moments of relaxation and enjoyment with our dog. By playing various pieces from the album one can learn about his/her dog’s personality and musical taste.

This album is my expression of admiration and love of dogs. These wonderful beings keep inspiring us by their sense of humour, positive emotions and unsuperable loyalty, which is an expression of unconditional love. And that’s exactly what our world needs more of.
